Noemata

What are noemata?

In alterhuman communities, the term "noemata" (singular noema) refers to inherent knowledge about one's identity. The exact experiences encompassed by "noemata" as a term are intentionally left vague and open to interpretation, but in my personal experience it would be best described as "just knowing" things about my Raidou-ness. If you're interested in learning more about noemata, I'd recommend checking out "Noemata: Background, definition, and use" by Poppy Hapalopus as a starting point.

Noemata in relation to my Raidou-ness

Since my Raidou-ness contains both aspects of me-as-Raidou and Raidou-as-fictional-character, the line between "headcanon" and "noema" can be a bit fuzzy. While I do have some headcanons that I consider exclusively as such, they're mostly for fun and exist as a way for me to explore "what if" scenarios involving Raidou-as-fictional-character that I can "turn off" whenever I want. Otherwise, I consider my headcanons and my noemata to be one and the same. They are immutable beliefs that I hold about my Raidou-ness, stemming from both my perception of me-as-Raidou and the way I interpret Raidou-as-fictional-character. I know that mixing fictional identity and fandom is generally frowned upon in fictionfolk spaces, but as someone with alexithymia I find that fandom can be a very helpful tool for introspection. By using the framework of fandom activities such as roleplaying or discussing headcanons to explore my Raidou-ness, I can find the shape of my identity in the contours of how I speak about my source or what are certain sticking points for me much more easily than trying to turn inwards and look for guidance in emotions that I can barely comprehend.

Disclaimer for fanfiction writers and the like

I always appreciate any and all good-faith interaction with this website. However, if you engage in fandom in any manner, I would like to politely request that you do not use my noemata as direct inspiration for your fanfiction, headcanons, etc. I am a living, breathing human being and would appreciate it if something as important to me as my Raidou-ness was treated with an adequate amount of respect, regardless of whether or not you think I'm delusional and/or full of shit.
